Now that restrictions are relaxing and we begin to return to pre-pandemic life, it is important to be conscious of what exactly “fully-vaccinated” means. As mask mandates lift and guidelines change, there are differences in the recommendations for “fully vaccinated” people and those that are not. So, what exactly does it mean to be fully vaccinated?

According to the CDC, people are considered “fully vaccinated” after the following time frames:

  • 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines
  • 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
