As of October 1, 2020, there had been more than 7 million COVID-19 cases in the U.S. with more than 200,000 deaths. A forecasting model created by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington estimates that there will be 371,509 COVID-19 deaths by January 2021.
