Recent research on the COVID-19 virus identified that new symptoms have evolved since original cases were reported. The first signs/symptoms reported by the majority of people diagnosed with COVID-19 were fever over 100.3 degrees, extreme fatigue, dry cough, body aches, very similar to the seasonal flu. Most recent symptoms being reported are a loss of smell and taste, GI symptoms (i.e., nausea, vomiting, diarrhea) and rarely conjunctivitis! As research continues, it is important to remember that you might experience “flu” symptoms but it is important that you notify your healthcare provider to determine if further testing/evaluation is recommended. Remember, many people affected with COVID-19 have NO symptoms at all which is why it is so highly contagious! Stay well, be safe and follow state and local restrictions!
