The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recently released a new order regarding the testing of nursing home inspection staff, effective December 1, 2020. Under this order, nursing home inspection staff must complete weekly COVID-19 testing and provide proof of a negative test result prior to conducting any on-site inspection. Furthermore, they must also get tested for COVID-19 immediately if they are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or if they are exposed to a suspected or confirmed individual with COVID-19.
Nursing home inspection staff who do not receive a test when required may not conduct on-site inspections of a nursing home, with very few exceptions. Please read the full order, linked below, to understand what this means for your facility.
