As we approach another annual “National Assisted Living Week” (September 12-18, 2021), it is a great reminder to be thankful to those who care for our frail elderly. National assisted living week was founded by the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in 1995, way before assisted living became such a prominent part of the post-term care community!

The logo for this year’s celebration week is a picture of a facemask with the words “Compassion, Community, Caring” which is the theme this year. This theme emphasizes how far we have come and through the chaos and fear, our mission never changed! It is a time of celebration, a time for saying thank you and of course, to do what we do best, caring for our elders.

As we continue our journey through the COVID-19 pandemic, remember, we can do anything when we have dedicated, hard-working caregivers and we stick together! Appreciate your co-workers, thank them for the sacrifices they have made this past year and above all, stay well! Thank you!
